Valerie has been dedicated to her yoga practice since 2009. Not naturally drawn to sports or athletics growing up, she was surprised to discover—through yoga—a deep sense of strength, stability, and confidence, both physically and mentally. She completed her teacher training at TBY Yoga under the guidance of Julia Jonson, and now shares her passion with others.
A lifelong singer, Valerie learned early on the importance of breathing from the diaphragm and the transformative power of the breath. She brings that awareness to her yoga classes, encouraging students to breathe mindfully and to listen to their own bodies. One of her guiding mantras is: “As I cherish my body, I lengthen my life.” She believes yoga is one of the most beautiful ways to honor and care for yourself. Valerie’s classes are nurturing and grounding, always ending with an extended Savasana—in her view, the most important pose of the practice.
Outside the studio, Valerie leads a vibrant and creative life. She's a passionate foodie who loves cooking, exploring new restaurants, and traveling. Her hobbies include painting, attending musicals, golfing, playing pickleball, and organizing social gatherings for her circle of friends. She’s been happily married for 30 years and is a proud mom of two sons she absolutely adores.
