Philosophy & Flow

2-Part Series at Black Cat Yoga

Yoga’s texts on conscious breathing, meditation, self-reflection, and mindful body movements were written with the intention of preventing suffering. Today we call it self-care. Yoga philosophy is extremely relevant for our often hectic modern lives. The texts teach us a lot about honoring and nourishing ourselves. These lessons also call us to be good citizens by guiding us to make small, daily choices to co-create desirable communities. In this workshop, enjoy a lively and uplifting 45-minute lesson on the timeless teachings of yogic philosophy. Then, you’ll engage in a mindful, 75-minute, alignment-based asana practice, tied together in a slow-flowing sequence. Join Julia Jonson on October 9th & November 6th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm * Register Here: Black Cat Yoga

Yoga Teacher Training

200-Hour Alignment-Based Training

Yoga provides us with an opportunity to get to know ourselves from the inside out. Society teaches us to live externally, while yoga teaches us to live internally. It’s what makes exploring the teachings so profound. While teachers in training will learn how to teach yoga poses and sequences, this training focuses on teaching yoga students. Teaching others begins with our own personal, internal integrity, which is why we place great importance on studying yoga’s code of ethics first.  Coursework includes yoga humanities, in-depth instruction on teaching postures and, sequencing classes. Great emphasis is placed on ethics, anatomy, physiology, and the meditative quality of this ancient yet timeless practice.

Praise: “I have been practicing with Julia for more than a year and a half. Julia instructs me in therapeutic yoga because of physical limitations. Through this, I have come to utilize breathing, meditative, and body movements to help with pain, to calm,  to strengthen, and to move more freely. Her teachings and our discussions have opened my mind to look at life and all that entails with a different view. If you are fortunate to have the opportunity to study with Julia, don’t pass it up.” -Mark V.
